Did somebody say science?
The first tracker to measure brain activity & heart rate variability (HRV) to help you understand your mental fatigue & flow.
Explore the science in detail
The science
Studies show that mental fatigue can lead to decreased cognitive performance, increased errors, and reduced work output, contributing to more workplace accidents. On the flip side, individuals in a 'flow' state, demonstrate improved work efficiency, enhanced cognitive performance, and even better exam results. Importantly, this 'flow' state is beneficial not just for individuals but also for teams. Moreover, people experiencing regular flow report higher job satisfaction.
Brain activity
When you think and process information, your brain creates small electrical signals that can be measured by an EEG sensor on the surface of your head. This provides insights into how focused, relaxed or intensely you are concentrating. EEG is completely safe. It does not send any signals to your brain. It simply detects the activity your brain is creating.
Heart rate variability
A measure of the small changes in time between each heartbeat. It's not about how fast or slow your heart beats but about the natural variations in the intervals between those beats. Less variation indicates you are more fatigued or stressed. Pylot measures HRV using an optical sensor on your forehead. This is similar to the optical sensor in a smartwatch.
It took us long enough
Flow
Also known as "being in the zone," flow is the feeling you get when you're completely absorbed and focused on your work. This state is associated with high alpha brain wave activity and leads to you achieving your best work.
Fatigue
Extended periods of intense concentration can result in cognitive fatigue. This makes it harder to focus, and the quality of your work deteriorates. This is associated with a change in brain wave activity and reduced heart rate variability.
"Pylot will really help you plan your Focused Blocks of Time (FBOTs) by knowing when you are in flow so you can work on your most important tasks."

It all starts with an idea
The idea for Pylot came when the founders used to spend all morning in meetings at their previous job, then struggle to achieve deep work in the afternoon.
